Redbreast 15 is now one of the most popular Irish whiskeys and was originally intended as a limited edition. In 2005, the owner Irish Distillers launched this 46% ABV amber whiskey made from both malted and unmalted barley as part of the 50th anniversary of La Maison du Whiskey in Paris. With its designation as 'Irish Whiskey of the Year' by Jim Murray the following year, this 'Pure Pot Still' secured its place among the best in the country. The name Redbreast refers to the Robin Redbreast bird and is named after the former chairman, who was a great bird lover.
As a Single Pot Still, Redbreast 15 is exclusively produced in copper pot stills. This triple-distilled whiskey matures for 15 years in various oak casks. Its intense Irish Single Pot Still aroma is accompanied by smooth berry fruits and gentle oak notes, while it feels soft with a spicy hint on the palate. Its long and aromatic finish should undoubtedly be celebrated.
