The flavor is primarily characterized by the uniquely fruity notes that The Glenlivet is known for. These are complemented by an incomparable smoothness and pleasant sweetness, for which the particularly high proportion of American first-fill casks is responsible. This results in an accessible smooth single malt in a fresh new design.

The Glenlivet (Highlands, Speyside)

Das Tal des Livet, der in den Spey mündet, ist wohl eines der berühmtesten Schottlands, zumindest im Hinblick auf die Whiskyproduktion. Das Tal liegt tief in den Bergen und bietet dementsprechend durch die kühlen Außentemperaturen optimale Bedingungen zum Whiskybrennen. Doch nur eine Brennerei dieser Region hat heute das Recht, sich auch wirklich „Tal des Livet“ zu nennen. Als erste Brennerei der Region, in der vorwiegend schwarz gebrannt wurde, erlangte The Glenlivet eine Brennerei-Lizenz. Damit machte sich Gründer George Smith nicht nur Freunde, weshalb er fortan zwei Pistolen bei sich trug. Der Mut hat sich ausgezahlt, denn heute ist The Glenlivet nicht nur amerikanischer Marktführer in Sachen Single Malt, sondern auch einer der erfolgreichsten Whiskys der Welt.
