Produkto aprašymas
The present single malt whisky comes from Glenlivet in Scotland. More specifically, the whisky is from Speyside. Theoretically, Speyside would be part of the Highlands. However, with its delicate and elegantly floral style, the distilleries along the River Spey have established themselves to such an extent that Speyside is considered an independent whisky region.
And this is how the whisky gets its good taste
The main ingredient of the whisky is malted barley. Glenlivet is not smoky. The whisky is bottled at a relatively gentle 40% ABV. This contributes to the mild taste. Here you will find the expected vanilla and caramel notes, as the whisky matured in bourbon casks. Clove spice, raisins, and chocolate are imparted to Glenlivet through the sherry cask. The combination of these cask influences creates a balanced overall picture. No artificial coloring was added. The rich color came solely from the cask maturation.

Das Tal des Livet, der in den Spey mündet, ist wohl eines der berühmtesten Schottlands, zumindest im Hinblick auf die Whiskyproduktion. Das Tal liegt tief in den Bergen und bietet dementsprechend durch die kühlen Außentemperaturen optimale Bedingungen zum Whiskybrennen. Doch nur eine Brennerei dieser Region hat heute das Recht, sich auch wirklich „Tal des Livet“ zu nennen. Als erste Brennerei der Region, in der vorwiegend schwarz gebrannt wurde, erlangte The Glenlivet eine Brennerei-Lizenz. Damit machte sich Gründer George Smith nicht nur Freunde, weshalb er fortan zwei Pistolen bei sich trug. Der Mut hat sich ausgezahlt, denn heute ist The Glenlivet nicht nur amerikanischer Marktführer in Sachen Single Malt, sondern auch einer der erfolgreichsten Whiskys der Welt.
