Today, in 2025, this story reaches its crowning conclusion: Ardbeg presents the seventh and final batch of Traigh Bhan – a 19-year-old single malt that powerfully and multilayeredly bears the signature of this unique distillery. At the first whiff, a tremendous storm of smoke, tar, and salty coastal air unfolds. But before the senses are overwhelmed, mint and eucalyptus break through like a fresh wind across the heavy sea. A little water finally opens a hidden door to floral aromas of lavender, jasmine, and fine shrubbery – a fascinating interplay between rugged strength and delicate elegance.

On the palate, a vibrant explosion of lime zest, lemon peel, and the bitter-fresh note of bergamot unfolds, powerfully merging with the medicinal peat smoke. The influence of the sherry casks brings spicy notes of ginger and cumin to the forefront, before dark chocolate and espresso tones herald the finale.
