Degustacijos užrašai
Ardbeg 10 Years
Aroma: Earthy peat smoke and grated limes, almonds, and seaweed, very complex. Great!
Taste: Incredibly sweet, strong peat notes combine with citrus notes, nuts, and fruity elements.
Finish: Smoky and long with sweet malt and dry coffee in the aftertaste.
Ardbeg 5 Years Wee Beastie
Aroma: Very bright-fresh and herbaceous, with a hint of vanilla, pear, freshly ground black pepper, and glazed ham. Strong Turkish coffee, juicy pine resin. With a bit of water more herbal notes like vetiver grass, fennel, as well as anise, green apple, and leather.
Taste: Powerful, explosively filling with lots of chocolate, tar, creosote tar oil, and smoked bacon, followed by an eruption of antiseptic lozenges, eucalyptus, and more anise.
Finish: A long, salty, and palate-coating finish with notes of cocoa, fudge-butter caramel, and hearty meat.
Ardbeg An Oa
Aroma: Rounded with subtle smoky aroma and creamy toffee notes, as well as anise, dates, and hints of peach and banana.
Taste: Creamy-velvety texture, which is a precursor to the syrupy sweetness that dominates the palate. On the other hand, full milk chocolate, oranges, and smoky tea leaves combine with sweet spice notes, cigar smoke, and – particularly unusually – grilled artichokes.
Finish: Long-lasting and smoky, sweet tobacco.
Produkto aprašymas
Ardbeg is one of the most popular distilleries from the Isle of Islay. It is located on the infamous southern coast of the island, right next to the distilleries Lagavulin and Laphroaig. Islay lies off the west coast of Scotland and is legendary for its smoky whiskies. Ardbeg is considered a typical representative of the island with its strongly smoky and maritime aromas. The delicious smoky notes in Ardbeg whiskies come from the intense smoking of the malt with peat. Also typical for Ardbeg is its distinct citrus note.
With this set, you can gain initial impressions of the legendary distillery character. But beware! Not for the faint-hearted. The designation Monsters of Smoke is well-deserved for all three bottles.

Ardbeg 10 Years
With the Ardbeg 10 Years, you get one of the recognized 'extremest' Scotch whiskies in the world. The flagship of the Ardbeg Distillery, which produces heavily peated and extremely smoky whisky, has been allowed to mature for at least a decade in former bourbon casks made of American oak. Its robust 55 PPM (phenol parts per million) smoke content is achieved through several days of smoking the malt over peat fires. The Ardbeg 10 Years is the most famous whisky of the distillery. It is bottled without chill filtration and artificial coloring in the characteristic dark green bottle with a black label. The alcohol content is 46%.
Ardbeg 5 Years Wee Beastie
The Ardbeg Wee Beastie is the youngest creation in the product range of the celebrated Islay distillery Ardbeg, at just 5 years old. Accordingly, its character is wild and untamed. Thanks to its affordable price, this single malt is the easily accessible entry product that can give newcomers an intense first impression of Ardbeg's house style. But what exactly can you expect? Definitely a lively drop, which, thanks to the influence of bourbon and sherry casks, is not lacking in versatility. Pepper, pine resin, and smoky notes, as well as tar and hearty meat notes, remain the predominant aromas, but dark coffee notes, a hint of vanilla, and bitter dark chocolate add more depth to the little monster. A solid 47.4% ABV provides the necessary intensity to emphasize the rough enjoyment.
Ardbeg An Oa
The Ardbeg An Oa is 'singularly rounded' – that’s how it should taste, referring to its name: Mull of Oa is the rounded headland that protects the Ardbeg distillery from the stormy Atlantic. Like all Ardbegs, the An Oa is a heavily peated or strongly smoky single malt whisky, as we are used to from Islay whiskies. Compared to other Ardbegs, the smoke is not quite as pronounced, but still prominent. Like its popular siblings Ardbeg Uigeadail and Ardbeg Corryvreckan, the Ardbeg An Oa has no age statement, but confidently stands out with 46.6% ABV, surpassing its 10-year-old sibling in alcohol strength. The maturation of the Ardbeg An Oa consists of virgin oak casks (freshly charred unused oak barrels), former Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, and first-fill ex-bourbon casks. The vatting of different cask types ensures a balanced mild-fruity overall result.
