This Single Malt is a Starward premiere: It matured for four years in casks from Rutherglen, Victoria, which were pre-filled with the coveted liqueur wine Muscat. This makes it a perfect choice for all fans of sherry and port cask matured Single Malts. For Muscat, there are many delicious parallels, but also exciting differences that reward curious explorers with unexpected flavors .
A combination of still wet filled and charred barrels creates full-bodied, sweet and fragrant aromas of raisins, roasted almonds, and cinnamon, culminating in a harmonious finish of toasted oak. Bright summer fruits and sweet lychees, characteristic of the dark Muscat from Rutherglen, add to the flavor. Simply delicious.
