GlenDronach has a very spicy and nutty base character. This distillery character harmonizes perfectly with the aromas imparted by Spanish sherry casks. It is no coincidence that GlenDronach is famous today for its sherry cask whiskies. For the GlenDronach 12, Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks (PX for short) were used.
Sweet fruit notes, paired with syrup and dates, supported by pronounced oak notes - this is what makes GlenDronach 12 special. The whisky impresses with its complexity, sweet sherry notes, appealing oak tones, creaminess, and smoothness. Your palate will be treated to flavors of caramelized blackberries, oranges, raisins, and spices . This bottling of GlenDronach is, like most of its siblings, non-smoky and unpeated. With a gentle 43% vol. bottling, GlenDronach 12 is tempered in terms of spiciness and is therefore a delight for almost every whisky lover.
All GlenDronach whiskies are uncolored, which is why the wonderful honey color of the 12-year-old GlenDronach comes solely from barrel aging.
