Upon opening the bottle with the bold red label, the intense aroma of ripe berries fills your nose. A variety of dark fruits develops along with cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, citrus zest, cloves, and licorice. On the palate, the whisky tempts with distinct berry notes in the form of blackberries, currants, syrup, and delicious sour cherries. After a moment of enjoyment, the impressions shift to warm plum cake with crumbs and spicy cedar wood. With a mix of the described aromas and additional accents of walnuts and toasted oak, the elegant single malt lingers on the palate, providing lasting moments of enjoyment.

For the Glencadam Reserva de Porto Tawny, excellent casks made of American oak were selected, whose contents were blended and then transferred into hand-picked Tawny Port casks from Portugal. While the ex-bourbon casks provided a nice sweetness, the finish contributed to the extraordinary fruitiness, impressive dark color, and wonderfully rounded aroma profile. Bottled at the ideal drinking strength of 46% Vol., the whisky remains mild and smooth, yet possesses a certain strength that gently supports the aromas.

With their colorful labels, the five releases of the Reserva series from Glencadam immediately catch the eye. Each underwent a secondary maturation in sherry, port, or red wine casks after the primary aging in former bourbon casks and was bottled without coloring and without chill filtration. The latter particularly benefited the preservation of all flavor carriers in the whisky. Thus, from tradition, passion, and craftsmanship, excellent single malts were created that are remarkable yet fairly priced.
