Drambuie is a traditional whisky liqueur with a history of over 260 years. It is made from real Scotch whisky and refined with herbs and honey. It contains malt whisky aged up to 17 years. The history of the drink goes far back in time. Allegedly, Bonnie Prince Charlie personally passed on the secret recipe as a thank you to his comrades after the Battle of Culloden. The combination of whisky with herbs and honey is not a new invention. On the contrary! It probably comes closer to 'Aqua Vitae', the predecessor of today's whisky, than some originals. The name comes from the Gaelic 'An Dram Buidheach', which means 'A drink that makes you happy'.
