Southern Comfort is an American whiskey liqueur that has its origins in the South. Southern Comfort was developed in the colorful and vibrant New Orleans. In the saloons of the 19th century, the cocktail, which consisted of whiskey with the addition of fruits and spices, was created. Today, Southern Comfort is still sold as a whiskey liqueur and is one of the most popular whiskey liqueurs in the United States. Due to its enormous sweetness, it is ideal as an ingredient for long drinks and whiskey cocktails, or for enjoyment on the rocks.
