The Bushmills Black Bush is a blend with a characteristic taste. In this edition, you receive the Irish classic in the large liter bottle. Its main ingredient is single malt whiskey, which has matured in sherry casks and brings the fruity flavor from there. Combined with a sweet grain whiskey, it acquires a unique and smooth character.
Even when pouring into the glass, spicy and balanced aromas come to the nose, smelling malty and sweet. Among them are dried fruits, such as raisins or apricots, with a hint of cocoa also present. Additionally, a light touch of vanilla can be tasted, and the connoisseur will also find toffee in it. Naturally, the sherry note can also be detected, which continues with the first taste. With its flavor notes of malt and sherry, spicy notes also come through. The malty and sweet aroma is strikingly long in the finish, but is accompanied by a velvety dryness and honey.
In this whiskey, the oldest distillery in Ireland - which is also the only one in Northern Ireland - has used an 80% single malt content. Essentially, the master distiller distills three times, and for the Bushmills Black Bush, Irish single grain whiskey from Midleton was additionally used. The malt used is dried in closed ovens. Therefore, it does not come into contact with smoke and does not take on that aroma.
