The whisky opens with an intense aroma of spicy grain, fresh wood, and cinnamon, underlined by strong cocoa and tobacco leaves. Delicious gingerbread and a subtle mint note bring excitement to your nose. On the palate, the drop presents itself full-bodied and powerful. Alongside roasted aromas, nuts, bitter-sweet chocolate, and vanilla, a delicate chili heat unfolds on the tongue. Juicy spice cake, dark malt, and a hint of hop bitterness join in. In the lingering finish, the aromas are complemented by caramel, dark beer, a touch of pepper, and gentle oak spice.

The base is the original Stauning rye, which is distilled exclusively from local rye and barley. Each grain germinates on its own malting floors and is distilled in small copper pot stills over an open flame after mashing. The maturation is as experimental as it is brilliant: First, the whisky ages for several years in new American oak barrels, which bring intense vanilla, caramel, and wood notes. This is followed by a finish in mezcal and tequila casks, which provides the smoky-mineral depth. The final kick comes from stout casks from Danish craft breweries, including Mexican Hot Chocolate Stout Casks. The result is a true aroma spectacle on your tongue.

The single rye comes with a robust 53.4% ABV, unfiltered and without caramel coloring. This way, you enjoy the Dirty Bastard with fully preserved flavor carriers and its natural color – bold, close to nature, and uncompromising. And the bottle itself is a work of art: It features the Mexican hairless dog Xoloitzcuintli (Xolo), surrounded by stylized ingredients from whisky, mezcal, and beer production, lovingly designed by tattoo artist Thit Hansgaard.
