A sweet compote of dark berries, plums, and red grapes merges with silky honey, noble semi-dark chocolate, and a touch of oak spice on your palate. This single malt was distilled in 2012 and matured entirely in a butt (cask with approx. 500 liters) that previously contained Ruby Port wine. Ruby Port is a fortified, sweet red wine from the Douro Valley in northern Portugal and differs from Tawny Port through its expressive fruitiness and youthful freshness. After 12 years, the whisky was bottled at the peak of maturation by the independent bottler Best Dram with natural cask strength of 57.8% ABV. Without chill filtration and coloring, this delicious drop brings the full range of its cask history unadulterated into your glass.

The Ben Nevis distillery is located at the foot of the mountain of the same name and was founded in 1825 by John MacDonald. Today, it is owned by the Japanese Nikka group and produces very full-bodied whiskies, as they were common in the last century. They often have edges and corners and give connoisseurs glimpses into almost forgotten times. The combination with a fruit-forward port cask creates a unique tasting experience that makes many a connoisseur's heart race.
