Aroma: Sweet-spicy cigar smoke, juicy sultanas, oat biscuits, zesty lemon, and a hint of oak.
Taste: Delicate vanilla and toasted malt combine with peppery tobacco notes. Dried fruit, brown sugar syrup, shortcrust pastry, and a characteristic oak spice join in.
Finish: The sweetness of tropical fruits lingers in the mouth for a long time, while creamy caramel, salted chocolate, and pepper develop. Above all, a mild smoke veil hovers.
Produkto aprašymas
The base for the Stauning Bastard Rye Whisky is rye and barley malt. A particularly spicy blend. The New Make then aged for about 3 years in freshly charred Virgin Oak barrels. Despite its international touch, Stauning focuses entirely on regionality. The grain used comes from Denmark, and malting is also done locally. The distillery has its own malting floor. Storage and bottling also take place in Jutland. Here, it seems that the fingerprint of Jutland is truly captured in the glass. The twist is the 6-month finish in Oro de Oaxaca Mezcal barrels. One of the most well-known brands in Mexico.
The Stauning Bastard, like the Stauning El Clasico, is part of the Research Series. This series is dedicated to wild experiments. The Bastard has certainly earned its place in the series with its unusual blend of rye and mezcal cask. The releases in the series are always adorned with images from an artist. The drawing for the Bastard came from tattoo artist Thit Hansgaard.
