Nose: The sparkling freshness of lemonade intertwines harmoniously with the fruity aroma of green apples, juicy apricots, and white peaches, rounded off with a subtle hint of vanilla.

Palate: The lively acidity of polished lemon peel and waxed zest combines with the gentle spiciness of chili threads and the creamy sweetness of vanilla ice cream, interspersed with accents of creamy caramel candies, vanilla, fine oak spice, and cinnamon, accompanied by fresh notes of pickled mandarins and apricots as well as grilled limes.

Finish: A long-lasting, spicy finale, carried by both subtle and juicy fruit notes of apricots and peaches, leaves a lasting impression on the palate with a light oak spice and a touch of warmth.

Even at a young age, Nc'nean Organic offers a profound and complex bouquet, which unfolds on the palate with floral notes, spices, and herbs. The whisky connoisseur will notice right away: Here we have an excellently crafted single malt whisky. The predominant STR red wine casks (55%) are beautifully complemented by ex-bourbon casks (43%). A small portion of Oloroso sherry casks (2%) provides an even more complex and intense tasting experience. STR stands for 'shaved, toasted and re-charred'. From these special wine casks, this Nc'nean has drawn a wonderful variety of aromas of fruits and spices, which harmonize beautifully with the floral character of the spirit. The bourbon cask contribution gives it, among other things, its sweet notes. Finally, the sherry casks provide a spicy, fruity, and slightly nutty aroma.

The bottle, entwined with vines, perfectly reflects the nature-connected and authentic character of the distillery. Moreover, Nc'nean forgoes any post-treatment of the single malt. The whisky has its natural color solely from the oak casks, and cold filtration is generally avoided at the distillery.

Nc'nean is an exceptional distillery in many ways. It is one of the first distilleries in Scotland founded by a woman. Annabel Thomas has fulfilled a great dream with this. And which whisky fan doesn't dream of their own distillery?! But the path was not always rosy. She left her city job, painstakingly scraped together the start-up capital, and built the small Nc'nean distillery on her parents' land. Here, sustainable Highland single malt Scotch whisky in organic quality is produced from Scottish, untreated malted barley, generated with self-produced electricity, and bottled in 100% recycled glass. By the way: The name Nc'nean is derived from 'Neachneohain' (the 'Queen of Spirits' or 'Fairy Queen') in Gaelic folklore.
