Nose: Strong notes of caramelized sugar, blackberries, juicy peaches, grated orange peel, and a pinch of cinnamon.

Palate: Very creamy and smooth, crème brûlée with dark forest fruits, nectarines, spicy plum jam, vanilla, and nutmeg, with a hint of anise and oak.

Finish: The medium-length finish with candied orange peels, delicate vanilla notes, and caramel is rounded off by roasted oak wood.

Gordon Wood is the Distillery Manager at Nc'nean and chose a cask combination of 74% STR red wine, 19% sherry, and 7% Rivesalts wine casks. With the slightly elevated alcohol strength of 48.5% ABV, the whisky spreads creamy-smooth with notes of crème brûlée, vanilla, dark fruits, and savory baking spices on the palate. The Nc'nean distillery, located on the Scottish west coast, is quite revolutionary: The single malt produced here is completely climate-neutral using renewable energy, made only with local barley, nearly waste-free, and always of organic quality. The Quiet Rebels are the 18 environmentally conscious employees who make up the Nc'nean team. Each of them personally stands behind one of the whiskies in the always limited autumn series. Originally born from cask and yeast experiments, each release is meant to reflect the individual preferences of the namesakes. The order is based on the length of service. After 23 years in the whisky industry, Gordon Wood joined Nc'nean in 2017 and definitely makes you want more with his whisky.
