The West Cork Distillery is located in the west of Ireland near the city of Cork. The West Cork Cask Strength is a limited release of Irish whiskey, bottled at a powerful 62.0% cask strength. The bottling is overseen by two true icons of the Irish whiskey world, Barry Walsh and Frank McHardy. The West Cork Cask Strength consists of a blend of Irish grain and malt whiskey aged in bourbon casks. The whiskey matured in bourbon barrels, benefiting from their rich vanilla notes. It is an atypical representative for Ireland, as it is bottled at a high cask strength. Despite the spiciness and sharpness from the high alcohol content, it is mild and aromatic with fruity-sweet notes, as one would expect from West Cork.
