The barriques from Grattamacco, a top winery in the renowned region Bolgheri, have imparted impressive aromas to the 10-year-old single malt. While the aroma greets you with notes of dark chocolate, sweet caramel, spices, and candied ginger, it becomes distinctly fruitier on the palate. Here, juicy berries, pink grapefruit, orange zest, and black truffle come into play. The finish remains fruity with berries, plums, and citrus notes. Gentle tannins and a mild spiciness linger until the end.
In the Wine Series, GlenAllachie presents limited editions with interesting wine finishes. The GlenAllachie 10 Year Grattamacco was first aged in former bourbon casks and then had over two years to absorb wonderful flavor nuances from the finest Grattamacco red wine barriques. The slightly elevated drinking strength of 48% ABV perfectly highlights the already attractive aromas and allows you to experience intense moments of enjoyment. Of course, the whisky was not colored and not chill-filtered. All flavor-carrying ingredients have been preserved for you.
