Nose: Fresh raspberry compote and waxed orange zest combined with sweet raisins and dried mangoes.

Palate: Sweet and spicy with ripe sour cherries, caramelized walnuts, maple syrup, and delicate toffee. Wonderfully rounded off with a hint of oak spice and malt.

Finish: Medium-length finish with notes of red apples and cranberries, surrounded by a nutty oak note.

After the noble drop was distilled in December 2014, it had more than eight years to absorb the wonderful aromas from the two previously sherry-filled casks and develop its flavor profile. The delicious and slightly mineral distillery character of Ben Nevis shines through and is complemented at the ideal 46% ABV by citrus fruits, sweet dried fruits, caramelized walnuts, and a hint of oak spice.

The bottler Signatory Vintage

Signatory Vintage is one of the largest and most respected independent bottlers of Scotch whisky on the market. The bottler, which also owns the Edradour distillery, hails from the quaint town of Pitlochry and bottles whisky in various series. Among them are the Un-Chillfiltered Collection (no chill filtration) and the Cask Strength Collection (undiluted cask strength). Particularly exclusive is the Rare Reserve series with extra old and high-quality whiskies. Typically, Signatory bottles single casks or small batches from a few casks. The bottler is very authentic, and so are the whiskies - natural, of high quality, without expensive marketing, and always fairly priced.

The Un-Chillfiltered Collection

About the single malts of this series from Signatory, you as an inclined whisky enthusiast will receive many informations. On the label, you will find details about age, distillation and bottling date, cask type, and cask number. The bottles are also individually numbered, although the total number is not stated on the bottle. With a regular 46% ABV, the whiskies of the Un-Chillfiltered Collection are bottled at the perfect drinking strength and not colored. The single malts come in the standard liquor bottle, adorned with a label featuring a silver logo. It always includes the also silver tube as a beautiful packaging.
