To bridge the time until the first whisky, Kanosuke released so-called 'New Born' bottlings with partially cask-aged raw distillate. Multiple internationally awarded, they successfully built anticipation for the distillery's single malts. These were released in limited editions – until now. The long-awaited Kanosuke Single Malt is the first permanently available standard bottling and leads into the heart of the coastal distillery's production process. Distilled in three different pot stills, it matures intensively in American oak casks that were pre-seasoned with the celebrated 'Mellowed Kozuru' Shochu. Let yourself be seduced by the powerful drinking strength of the single malt. Bottled at a solid 48% ABV, it offers an intense and unforgettable tasting experience that delights even the most discerning whisky lovers.
The distillery's location in the far southwest of Japan is ideal for whisky production. Tending to warm summers with maximum temperatures of 35°C and wild, windy winters where temperatures can drop to -4°C, it ensures a rapid maturation of the distillates. Critics worldwide agree: Even after a short time, the bottlings taste significantly more mature than their age would suggest.
