Finish: Medium-long with fresh grass and fragrant hay, complemented by a subtle caramel note.

Experience spring in a glass with the new Lochlea Sowing Edition Third Crop. As part of Lochlea's Seasonal Releases, it celebrates spring and with its fragrant profile, it hints at the approaching summer.

Look forward to a wealth of sweet-creamy vanilla notes - typical for classic bourbon cask maturation, which you will find in the Sowing Edition. Also prominent are elegant rose aromas, intense apple blossoms, as well as Italian wedding almonds and fragrant hay, along with fresh grass.

The first fill bourbon barrels rested for 9 months longer in the warehouse, resulting in the Third Crop enjoying a noticeably more intense cask maturation compared to the Second Crop. Its golden yellow color is primarily due to maturation in bourbon casks, as this top-quality whisky does not require any coloring tricks. The drop was bottled pleasantly soft and sparkling with an alcohol content of 46% ABV.

The Seasonal Releases are published quarterly and showcase what happens on the farm of the Lowland family distillery with the changing seasons. At Lochlea, only barley from their own cultivation is used, and the distillation and maturation also take place on-site. This Sowing Edition is dedicated to the sowing and ordering of the fields. With this bottling, the Seasonal Releases are now in their third round. The exciting development through the longer maturation is clearly visible compared to the Sowing Edition Second Crop from spring 2023.
