Aroma: Fine vanilla and sweet coconut dominate the bouquet. Mild walnuts and slightly more intense hazelnut notes accompany. A full bouquet with dried orange peels and cloves.
Taste: Cloves are joined by allspice and cinnamon with freshly grated lemon zest. Malt and marzipan with sherry. Honey sweet.
Finish: Long-lasting and spicy.

With the Redbreast 12 years, we present to you an exclusive Irish whiskey from the famous Midleton distillery in Cork, known primarily as the home of Jameson and Tullamore Dew. The distillery was founded in 1825 and replaced in 1975 by a complete new building that better met the demands of the time. Together with its owner, Irish Distillers Ltd., the distillery came under the ownership of the French Pernod Ricard group in 1988. The rather unusual name for a whiskey, 'Redbreast', refers to a bird lover who served as the distillery's manager decades ago. The brand itself was introduced exactly 100 years ago, in 1912.
The Redbreast 12 years is triple distilled in a pot still with a copper pot and belongs to the very rare single pot still whiskeys of Ireland. Similar to Jameson, it is distilled from a mix of malted and unmalted barley and rests for twelve years in ex-sherry casks.
This long aging gives the Redbreast 12 years its striking amber color and distinct sherry aroma, complemented by intense malty notes. On the palate, sherry meets notes of red berries and fruits on a base of fine honey, which is surprisingly replaced by a peppery-spicy note in the long finish.
