The unusual maturation gives the whisky a distinctive character, reflected in versatile aromas and a rich taste. The combination of gentle smoke and notes of crème brûlée, vanilla, sweet toffee, tobacco, herbs, and dark berries makes this single malt a true experience for your senses. With a robust drinking strength of 50.7% ABV, you will indulge in full-bodied moments of enjoyment, which conclude with lingering impressions of caramel, heather, and mild oak spice. To preserve its naturalness, the delicious Raasay is bottled uncolored and without chill filtration.
In the new Oak Species Maturation Series, the island distillery presents the influence of various cask maturations while introducing the first release of the series. Quercus Humboldtii is a fast-growing, robust, and evergreen oak species that primarily grows at altitudes of 1000 to 3200 m and is mainly found in Colombia and Panama. The wood is particularly hard and dense and is known for its exceptionally long durability. Due to these properties, it is excellent for furniture and construction wood, but of course also for whisky casks!
