The Cask Craft series from the independent bottler Murray McDavid is a collection of single malts from all over Scotland, artfully matured in various types of wood, achieving an ideal balance of distillery character and cask influence. In the case of this Linkwood, the finishing in sweet Pedro Ximénez and spicy Oloroso sherry casks created a blend of fruitcake, creamy toffee, apples, and gentle oak spice. The light and sweet-malty style of the distillery, with citrus fruits and nuts, is perfectly complemented by the finish with tasty notes of pralines, oranges, spices, and caramel.
