Taste: Gentle spices, full oak notes, and mild orange juice. Medium body.

The first Tamnavulin in 20 years...
The Tamnavulin Double Cask was the first single malt whisky released by the distillery under its own label in 2016 after a 20-year hiatus. This was done to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Speyside distillery. It is a wonderful Scotch whisky that matures in former bourbon casks and then receives its refinement in sherry butts.
Due to the double maturation, you can expect a surprising complexity and a combination of caramel sweetness, fruitiness, and a pleasant spiciness.

Due to its unbeatable price-performance ratio, it quickly became a very popular entry-level drop. For little money, you get a very good single malt that has opened the door to the world of whisky for many connoisseurs out there.
The distillery was established during the whisky boom of the 1960s and was founded in 1966. In 1993, the distillery was sold to the whisky producer Whyte & Mackay, which mothballed the distillery in 1995. In 2007, it was put back into operation.
By the way: Tamnavulin is Gaelic and means 'mill on the hill'.
